Why we started

Plates & Pixels began with a problem we had seen repeatedly: talented hospitality teams losing time and margin because critical operational information was fragmented across paper invoices, spreadsheets, messages, and disconnected systems.

The people running service already make hundreds of decisions every day. Our goal is not to add another dashboard. It is to make the information behind those decisions easier to capture, connect, and use.

What this round enables

The pre-seed funding gives us the resources to move from product design and validation into focused MVP development. The first version will centre on the workflows where manual work creates the most friction and where earlier visibility can protect margin.

  • Automatic extraction of products, quantities, units, taxes, and prices.
  • Inventory updates connected to approved deliveries.
  • Demand forecasting for better preparation and purchasing.
  • Supplier comparison and suggested ordering workflows.

Built with hospitality, not around it

The MVP will be shaped with restaurant owners, chefs, hotel operators, finance teams, and hospitality advisors. Their feedback is essential because software that looks efficient in a presentation can create more work during a real service.

Our product decisions will continue to be measured against practical questions: Does this save time? Does it make a cost visible earlier? Does it help a team order, prepare, or communicate with more confidence?

The next plate

This round is an important milestone, but it is the beginning of the work rather than the finish line. Our next phase is about building carefully, testing in real operating environments, and learning quickly from the people who will use the platform every day.
